Huawei ICT Competition 2019
Greetings from Huawei!
We are pleased to inform you that Huawei ICT Competition 2019-2020 is now open for Registration! Please find attached the official proposal and flyer, or read below email body for more details. Please circulate this email with your students, encourage them to register, study and win various awards!
Background:
Huawei ICT Competition is a global skills competition held by Huawei, targeting university and college students who are studying or interested in the ICT field. A total of 61 countries and 1,100 universities participate with 100,000+ students taking part so far! The theme of the competition is “Connection • Glory • Future”, Huawei aims to provide an ICT skills learning platform for students to learn and practice, connect students from around the country and around the world and encourage them to compete and exchange skills in order to cultivate future ICT leaders in the industry.
Last year in Kenya, we had 11 students who received internships with 6 students competing in South Africa for Regional Final and a team of 3 students in China for the Global Final!

Why register?
1. Acquire skills and compete in either a Network Track or a Cloud Track!
2. Participants stand a chance to receive a Free Exam Vouchers to take any Huawei Certification!
3. Participants who already have a Huawei Certificate will get additional points on their Preliminary & National Exam scores!

How to participate:
1) Registration and Online Study (Timeline: Sept to October 14th 2019)
Study links: Network Track | Cloud Track
Register via Email option > Check your inbox to activate account and reset password, you will receive 2 emails, one for account activation, one gives you an initial password which you are required to reset
Register via Mobile option > No password required, login with SMS verification
Note: Participants will be required to choose either the Network Track or Cloud Track.
2) Preliminary Exam (Timeline: 14th October 2019)
After Registration, participants will go do online self-study to prepare for the Preliminary Exam
You will have 7 days to take the Preliminary Exam which will be used to select the participants who will proceed to the National Final!
3) National Final (Timeline: November 2019)
We will invite 100 students to compete in the National Final where Huawei will award top students as follows:
1st Place – One Student
2nd Place – Two Students
3rd Place – Three Students
Excellence Award – 5 Students
National Top Teams stand a chance to compete in the Regional Final in South Africa in February 2019 and Global Final in China in May 2019!
Notes:
1. Additional Scoring points
At the Preliminary & National Final Stage, participants with Huawei Certification will be awarded extra points to their Exam score as follows: HCIA Certificate – 50 points, HCIP Certificate – 100 points, HCIE Certificate – 200 Points
2. Free Voucher
Student can apply for free Exam voucher if he/she completes 10+ hours of online learning and gets 80+ points on any of Mock Exam (A Voucher must be redeemed by 31st December, 2019 – Guide to redeem voucher here)
