Embracing Inclusivity: Machakos University’s Heartfelt Outreach to Masaku School for the Physically Challenged

On Friday, October 18, 2024, Machakos University embarked on a heartwarming community outreach initiative at Masaku School for the Physically Challenged. This annual event, organized by the University Academic Staff Union (UASU), focused on fostering connections and uplifting the spirits of students with disabilities.

During their visit, the university staff engaged in various activities with the pupils, including sharing meals and dancing together. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, as everyone participated in the celebrations, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and compassion.

The outreach not only aimed to bring smiles to the faces of the children but also emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting underprivileged communities. Gifts were shared, symbolizing solidarity and care, reinforcing the idea that every child deserves love and support.

This initiative, led by the UASU chapter officials and the support of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, exemplifies the institution’s dedication to social responsibility. The collaborative effort of academic staff and the officials, played a crucial role in making this event a success, showcasing the university’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
