Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Award Ceremony at Machakos University

Overview: Machakos University recently hosted the Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Zhang Zhizhong, representing His Excellency Dr. Zhou Pingjian, the Ambassador of the Republic of China to Kenya, for the second time. The event marked the prestigious Ambassador’s Scholarship Award Ceremony, reflecting the enduring partnership between Machakos University and Tianjin City Vocational College of China.

  1. Expansion of Scholarships: This year witnessed a significant increase in the number of scholarships awarded, rising from 5 to 8. This enhancement reflects the growing commitment to fostering educational excellence at Machakos University.

Diverse Fields of Study: Notably, the Ambassador’s Scholarship awards have extended beyond the Bachelor of Science in Cloud Computing and Information Security to include students in pure and applied sciences, as well as environmental sciences. Technological Advancements: The event showcased the utilization of cutting-edge technology, with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joyce Agalo delivering remarks through an enabled Luban Workshop teleconference technology. Strategic Positioning Through Luban Workshop: The establishment of the Luban Workshop, supported by the Chinese government, played a pivotal role in positioning Machakos University at the forefront of ICT education in Kenya.
